This morning I woke up to a flood of sale alerts in my email inbox which was quite frankly overwhelming and awesome at the same time. A bunch of my favorite retailers are having huge sales today through the weekend, including Nordstrom’s half yearly sale, Ann Taylor (60% off sitewide) and Loft (50% off sitewide). Here are some of my picks of the inventory:
Ann Taylor: One of my favorite retailers because their petite sizing is on point and their clothing is suitable for work and play. Everything is 60% off with code WINTER60, excluding new arrivals. Several of the accessories are in my bag, including their classic signature pebbled tote which comes in both large and mini sizes. I have the classic pebbled tote in taupe from last year which goes with every outfit in both casual and work settings, and I’m finally ordering a mini tote this year which is on sale for only $40 this weekend. I am also really liking the sleek leather bootie and boot, both of which have a high stacked heel. However, reviews for the boot say the calf circumference runs large, which is the only thing stopping me from purchasing.
My pick of the clothing section (just picked up the petite embroidered dot shirt and the bow print tie neck blouse):
Nordstrom Half Yearly sale: I’m a little obsessed with booties and lace up flats right now and it hasn’t been easy finding comfortable ones that I can walk the New York streets in. A month ago I purchased the Franco Sarto Cita bootie in brown which has been surprisingly comfortable and formal enough for work. It has definitely become a staple in my winter wardrobe. Since I wear size 4 I haven’t found any lace up flats that fit, but I’ve added the Halogen lace up flat in nude to my cart to try. The BP Katrina pointed lace up flat comes in a gorgeous watercolor pattern starting at size 5 (story of my life).
I also wanted to point out that the adult Hunter boots are on sale for less than $90 which is super rare. I actually purchased the Hunter original gloss rain boot for kids a while back in bright red which fits better knee-length wise on me than adults (for reference I’m 5′ with shorter lower legs, and the adult Hunter boots cut into my knee whereas the kids’ boots go up to mid lower leg). I wear an adult size 5 in boots and I picked up the size 4 in kids, which is a little loose but fits well with thick socks inside. Right now the adult one is on sale for around the same price as the kids’ boot, but if you are petite like me you might consider the sizing differently.
Time to get yourself an extra little Christmas gift!
