Now that all of my purchases have arrived I wanted to do a quick review since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is opening today to everyone. Sorry for the grainy quality of these photos; I was taking these in a small mirror late last night so the lighting is not great 😛

Shoes

I was especially excited to compare the Steve Madden Gleemer vs. the Halogen “Noble” over the knee boots, and the Halogen ones came out the winner for me personally. The Halogen one has a longer tapered toe instead of a chunkier rounder one, and the heel was shorter so I can actually walk around comfortably. I got both in size 5 (my usual size) and the Steve Madden one was too large; a slightly large boot with a higher heel and no platform in the front made it hard to walk in. The only thing is the Halogen boots are much shorter in the back than the Steve Madden’s, which come up all the way to mid thigh.

Also in LOVE with the Halogen ‘Owen’ Pointy Toe Ghillie flats that I bought full price for $90 earlier this season, now on sale for $59. So tempted to buy another pair in chestnut (and maybe one in bordeaux too!). So easy to dress up or down, and perfect under jeans.

Jackets

I wanted to love the Trouve drape leather jacket and I’m still on the fence about this one. The leather is incredibly buttery soft and is a great deal at $219. A steal for a soft real leather jacket! I got the XXS in brown saddle, and it fits loosely enough that I can layer a sweater inside. The sleeves as you can see are long and I’m not sure if they can be tailored given the zipper details. I love the feel and the draping but on the fence about sizing.

Maybe I’m just used to a slim tight fit because of my other favorite faux leather jacket (below), which is now on sale for less than $70. Unfortunately this is currently out of stock but keep checking because sizes keep popping back up!

I also LOVE the bucket bag below. It was actually much larger than I expected but perfect for a work bag or even a day trip bag. I got one in cognac for me and one in taupe
