Name: Kellie Reed, MD
Practice setting and job title: Dermatologist in private practice
Fitzpatrick skin type: Type III
Oily vs. Dry vs. Combination skin: combination
Disclaimer: I love trying various products, so any of the below may change, but this is a snapshot of a typical day!
AM Regimen:
Cleanser: @eltamdskincare Foaming Facial Cleanser – gentle enzyme and amino acid blend, but what I really love…how it foams!
Extras (antioxidants, medicines, etc.): Skinceuticals Phloretin CF. I am acne-prone, so this is my go-to vitamin C serum currently.
Eye cream: Isdin K-OX eyes helps brighten, firm and reduce puffiness.
Neck cream: revisionskincare Nectifirm Advanced – I use from my jawline to my decolletage twice daily.
Sunscreen: colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50 liquid formula (it has iron oxide to help protect against blue light – light emitted from LED and digital devices) or @eltamdskincare UV Elements SPF 44 (both are super moisturizing).
Foundation / Concealer: La Roche Posay primer and @isdin skin drops. The primer makes my pores appear smaller and the skin drops cover any imperfections (hello occasional acne or rosacea flares) or bruises. The @isdinusa skin drops give you 12 hours of matte coverage – and also are great for vitiligo, varicose veins, scars, and tattoos, etc. Sometimes
PM Regimen:
Cleanser: Revision Skincare Brightening Facial Wash for a gentle AHA/BHA exfoliation combined with vitamin C and E among other ingredients to help brighten and smooth skin.
Makeup remover: After cleansing, I use @neutrogena Oil-free Eye Makeup Remover (my go-to for years) and @larocheposayusa micellar water on cotton for the rest of my skin.
Serum: Skinmedica TNS Essential Serum which has growth factors to help with fine lines and texture.
Extras (antioxidants, medicines, etc.): Altreno (prescription tretinoin lotion – love this!) or @skinbetter AlphaRet Overnight Cream.
Moisturizer or Night Cream: @skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore
Eye cream: Skinmedica TNS Eye Repair – growth factors and antioxidants to repair my skin overnight!
Neck cream: Revisionskincare Nectifirm Advanced – I use from my jawline to my decolletage.
Lips: @vaselinebrand original jelly or @aquaphorus healing ointment – since middle school. A staple in my routine.
#1 Favorite Can’t-Live-Without Skincare Product: sunscreen – so many brands I love! Ex: Elta MD, ISDIN, Colorescience, Neutrogena, CeraVe, Revision Skincare!
Anything else you want me to add: I may not necessarily use all the above on a given day, but the three things I ALWAYS use: retinoid/retinol, antioxidant (vitamin C serum), and sunscreen! This is the #dermtrifecta!!
