Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019
Here it is again – the once a year massive shopping event known as the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! This year I’m focusing on shoes. Let’s be honest, I can’t really fit into many of my usual size clothing right now, so I’m buying more in preparation for post-partum wear in 2020! Right now cardmembers can shop 7/12 – 7/18 and then the sale opens for everyone. Tons of great pieces and staples at sale price. In my experience, items sell out quickly, so if you’re a cardmember, get the goods early on! You can always return stuff if it doesn’t fit or you don’t like it. My personal philosophy for this sale is to splurge on high quality, rarely on sale items, that are now on major sale (brands like All Saints, Stuart Weitzman, etc.). Here are my picks:
Shoes
Possibly my favorite finds out of the entire sale. I buy shoes incredibly rarely since I wear size 4 – 4.5 (yes, I have child’s feet!), but every year at the N Sale, I go a little crazy. There are so many fun prints, colors, and cute designs this year! These picks all come in small sizes (<5) below.
- Stuart Weitzman Alina over the knee boot and Darla over the knee boot: do you prefer leather (alina) or suede (darla)? I’m a sucker for leather over the knee boots. I also love the stretch panel in the back for a slimmer fit. The Alina has a lower heel (2″ vs. Darla 2.5″) and a lower boot shaft (22 1/4″ vs. Darla 23″), so I splurged and ordered the Alina! It’s also $100 cheaper 🙂 Every girl needs a classic OTK black leather boot don’t you think?!
- Vince Corlina ankle strap sandal: comes in >20 colors. I ordered this both in nude leather and in this super pretty powder blue. Very classic design, great for casual day out or for dressing up for weddings or special events.
- Tory burch cap toe ballet flat (marked down to $164 from $248) and cap toe pump (marked down to $169 from $258): I ordered a pair of Tory Burch flats last year during the sale in gold and I wear them ALL the time to work. I ordered one of the black cap toe pumps this time around, since it comes in a lower heel (2″), which I can easily walk around conferences and clinic in. Plus the brushed gold hardware is so pretty.
- Ted Baker Grasce Flat (marked down to $99 from $160): in blush and black leather, with rose gold detailing on the heel and around the toe. Sold out in 4 but available in all over sizes!
- Blondo Nina Waterproof Suede Bootie (marked down to $99 from $150): I like the whipstitch detail on the side and waterproof suede is always a good idea. I’ve ruined so many suede boots from walking around in puddles in NYC.
- Naturalizer Dalton Tall Boot ($139 marked down from $209): My old pair of riding boots are now so old they’re fraying and falling apart, so I figured it was time for a new pair. The light maple leather goes with any color, and I like that they have different calf widths. Update: I received these in the mail and I LOVE them! Great height, petite calf friendly, and super soft and comfortable to walk in. I highly recommend!
Casual Clothing
- Leith Wrap Minidress – in black and a spicy red chili color, perfect for date night. I have a very similar ruched dress from Leith (pictured above) and it is SO flattering, very easy to transition from daytime with sandals to girls’ night out with heels. Also comes in a ruched bodycon dress form with sleeves in a beautiful burgundy, very seasonal for fall/winter.
- Leith ruched sleeveless dress – now 20% off outside of the Nsale! I own it in magenta and a long sleeve version in olive green. It is non maternity but the flattering ruching accommodates an early bump as shown above.
- Gibson belted lace top – OMG this is so pretty! Already sold out in pink and black in XXSP but available in a beautiful deep red, perfect for the holidays. I love the feminine lace, the belt to accentuate your waist, and the details around the collar and sleeves! This is one of my favorite tops in the entire sale.
- I bought two pairs of the Zella high waist everyday leggings in Zella Girls (size 10-12), and I wore them constantly the whole year. This year I picked up another black pair in girls size 14-16 for a roomier fit. I also picked up a pair of the adult Zella high waist everyday leggings in 7/8 fit (XS) because it has pockets! I love having pockets when I run a quick errand without a purse, so getting leggings + pockets was a no brainer for me. Also comes in a crop length with pockets and a wide band (good for petite ladies) in a beautiful teal color.
- Gal Meets Glam sleeveless tie waist jump suit: I am in love with jumpsuits both maternity and non maternity. This one is beautiful with a feminine tie at the waist. I think this would look better on taller ladies so I had to pass, but still wanted to share! For petite ladies, there is a really feminine and chic Rebecca Taylor floral silk blend jumpsuit with a tie waist and flutter sleeves that hits the model at mid-calf. If I had unlimited funds I’d definitely buy that one!
- All Saints Balfern Lambskin leather Biker Jacket in blush pink or in oyster white soft suede: I have an All Saints lambskin leather jacket that I wear ALL the time in the fall, and I love love love the soft buttery leather. Marked down from ~$500 to $332, these jackets are a steal; I paid well over $500 for mine and I bought mine at the All Saints outlet no less.
- BB Dakota Up to Speed faux leather moto jacket: I love a drape front leather jacket, and this is a great price if you don’t want to splurge on a real leather jacket. Both the parchment and smokey brown would be such pretty colors for fall.
- Blank NYC suede moto jacket: Another stunner in soft suede and the prettiest coffee bean color. I have an old blank nyc faux leather jacket which I’ve worn for over 4 years now, and it is a closet staple. I’m tempted to pick one up in a warmer tone!
- Blank NYC drape front
Work Clothes and Staples
- BP Lace Trim Camisole: This is a favorite that is a huge hit every year. They are already sold out of the color that I wanted (ivory) in my size, but I think the polka dotted and the black are really classic tanks that you can wear by themselves or layered under a sweater or cardigan.
- Gibson Cozy twist front pullover: Still available in this gorgeous rose pink and other fun colors in petite! This looks like an easy outfit to wear to work over slacks or throw on over Zella leggings for a casual errand-running day or lounging at home. I ordered this in the Brickell color in XXS P.
- Vince Camuto contrast tie neck blouse: Classic clean lines, white on black or black on white design. Great for layering under your suit or wear standalone on top of a fitted pencil skirt or slacks.
Accessories
- Tory Burch Everly Flap Saddle: love this saddle bag in cream – so so pretty. It’s also a great size for everyday use!
- Madewell small transport leather tote: I have had the older version of this bag (above) in cognac for years and I love it. I always bring it with me when I travel because it’s so durable and packs just enough of the necessities (wallet, keys, phone, water bottle, sunglasses, and a foldable hat!) The new center suede stripe makes it even more unique!
- Longchamp expandable tote: I love my black Le Pliage Longchamp bag that I got in Paris years ago; I use it for work DAILY. It holds up extremely well and whenever it gets dirty I can throw it in the washer. I am ordering this this expandable version, which makes for a wonderful travel bag for day or even weekend trips!
- Chevron 29 inch and 20 inch spinner luggage set: I totally wanted this set last year but it sold out in the pink! Sadly I already purchased a smaller check-in bag so I don’t need another, but for anyone in the market for luggage, the pink is such a cute set for carry-on and a small check-in bag.
Beauty
I was going to have a baby section but to be honest, I don’t know what baby gear I want yet because I haven’t tried any! So if you have any baby recs to give, please leave them for me below.
What did you get from the #Nsale? I definitely did some damage >_< Will be updating this post as I try more things on in person, hopefully at the store tomorrow!
